Painting with a Twist is one of my newest fun finds. If you are looking for a girl's night or an interactive date night, this is for you! Painting with a Twist has two locations, one in Murry, UT, and the other in South Jordan, UT. They also will sometimes do off-site events as well. We almost went to one that was at a local bar, but it was already sold out. To see their entire schedule and locations, check out their website.
Our class was at the Murry location on a Friday night from 8:30-10:30pm. We thought two hours was going to be too long, but we were painting the entire time and the time went very fast. On their website, you will see different events on different days. You will also see what painting they will show you how to paint, so you can pick your favorite. They also have certain events that are for all ages and some that are 21 years and up.
Make sure to either purchase everyone's tickets at once or put in the notes who you want to sit next to. They will put a paper plate with your name on your assigned canvas so no one can complain about where they are sitting or try to change. They also have options to purchase bigger canvas and in some cases fancy things like wood and stuff. Next time I want to pick a class that does door decore and I'll pay the extra fee for the fancy door signs made out of wood.
Our class was fully sold out with about 25 people total. So if there is a certain painting you like best, make sure to make your reservation before they sell out!
As I was in the mood for some boozy fun, we picked the 21 years and older class so drinking was encouraged. At our class, we were given the option to pay $5 to get either two beers, or a "glass" of wine. Other classes have the option of BYOB. So just make sure you read the description all the way to know what your class will be like. My one glass of wine was an entire 12 once cup, so it was plenty of wine for me.
On the flip side, my girl got two Blue Moons and finished both before the two hours were up. In here case, I think she would have preferred the BYOB class so she could continue to drink her beers deep into the second hour of painting. There are also other classes that are for all ages, so they can easily be turned into a family-friendly activity too!
They provided us two different paintbrushes, all the colors we would need, paper towels, a cup of water, and a painting apron. They also had someone walking around the entire time checking if we ever need any additional paint, paper towels, or anything else.
It can seem super intimidated but rest assured this was a super beginners class. They walk you through every step the entire time and were able to help when you needed it. Neither myself nor my friend consider ourselves amazing painters but were still super excited how both of us turned out!
If you are looking for something to do as either a girl's night or as a date night, I 10 out of 10 recommend Painting with a Twist! I plan to go again very soon.
